These 6 star-like beings are dancing along the path singing as they go. One end of the band(scrap strap metal) is fixed and the other free so the sculpture gyrates in the wind.

The sculpture above was given out to one of my local patrons and this is version #2. As you can see, it differs somewhat from the original, however, the beings are just as happy as in version #1...singing as they go....
The cases for these clocks were made from a piece of counter top I scrounged from the curb on trash day. They can be desk clocks or hung from the wall in two orientations...I've cut key slots in the back. A piece of hanger wire supports the 6" square clock when used as a desk clock. The mechanisms I bought from Klockit.
This small sculpture is made from scraps of several other projects. The penny is there for scale. The base is a piece of Corian scrap.
These two guys are made from some scrap plastic and are of the same parents as the piece at the top of this page. They are just happy. The base is 6" square.
This is a Miro-like(Joan Miro' 1893-1983)piece was made from some scraps of the funky yard art project shown above. It's not quite finished
This woman is not, at all, near completion. Her nose needs some work as does her hair and the background. I used a hotel ad from the Wall St, Journal for the model. She is made from scrounged copper wire..
This hanger wire sculpture, about 18" tall, started out to be a shofar(ram's horn)-like thing but, now, I'm not sure. The transition from one of the ellipses spreaders to the next wasn't very smooth so I added the 3-band 'obstruction.' This piece took a LOT of sawing and there was difficulty threading the wire through the holes. I didn't take the necessary time to smooth out the slight bends in the wire...maybe I should sometime. Unfortunately, the 2 dimensional photo doesn't give a good accounting of the 3-D sculpture.
I seem to have some sort of clock building fetish to satisfy this month. The board is a trashed drawer side and the wire is left over metal hanger scraps. I plan to fill some of the rectangular spaces with a color panel much like a Mondrian kind of piece
This piece is hung near my home entrance. Does it look like I need to tidy up around the place a bit?? The frame of the sculpture is made from metal scraps I was going to pitch but I got this big idea to make something. The lady was modeled from an ad in a Penney's catalog and was cut from a piece of trashed computer. The woman originally was for another project but that can wait.
I still had lots of metal scraps after I finished the Penny's woman and another wire project that hadn't turned out well, so I did some combining and, with a large jolt of caffeine, came up with this funky yard art plant(maybe, the caffeine came 1st).. .The paint I dug out of my paint locker and is umpteen years old.. The piece is about 2 feet tall and is drought tolerant as are many of my FYA plants. The center stem is part of an old political yard sign and the smaller wires are made from those ubiquitous metal hangers I seem to favor of late.
